VC FUOYE cries out over power outage

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, Professor Kayode Soremekun wants Management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC to address power outage and epileptic power supply in Oye Ekiti and Ikole Ekiti.

Professor Soremekun who stated this in Oye Ekiti expressed worry over the poor attitude of the management of BEDC to stabilise electricity supply in Ekiti state.

The Vice Chancellor, lamented that power outage, poor power supply and exorbitant billings being experienced by students living outside the school hostels led to the violent protest which resulted in attacks on the Convoy of Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi and sudden death of two students of FUOYE.

The University Manager expressed worry on factors preventing BEDC from stepping up its game on power supply having signed agreement to meet the yearnings of the people and government on supply.

Professor Soremekun also explained that measures had been put in place to prevent protest by students and appealed to parents to synergise with management of FUOYE in order to instill moral values and academic excellence in products of the institution.
