Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo has advised Benue youths against engaging in drugs and substance abuse as well as other vices so as not to jeopardize their lives.
Mrs Osinbajo gave the advice while presenting a keynote address during a town hall meeting with the youths at the Benue peoples House Makurdi.
She okenjoined the youths to see themselves as princes and princesses who could not afford to create negative images for themselves through misbehavior.
The Vice President’s wife urged the youths, especially those from poor backgrounds to draw inspiration from people who have excelled in life to create innovative ideas that would take them to limelight.
Wife of the Benue State Governor, Dr Eunice Ortom said the state Government through her pet project, the Eunice Spring of Life Foundation was doing everything necessary to end gender violence and drug abuse among the youths.
The Managing Director, Benue Investment Property Company, BIPC, Mr Alex Adum and the Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS Mr Andrew Ayaban highlighted the steps their organizations have taken to create employment for the youths.
Some of the youths who spoke during the interactive session attributed violence and drugs abuse among them to unemployment and urged the Government to create jobs opportunities for them through empowerment programmes.
The Vice President wife had earlier inaugurated the Benue Center for Enterprise Development and Innovation and the renovated Mama Abayol Orphanage home which has been taken over by the Government.
