Benue govt sacks engaged consultants

The Benue state government has terminated the services of revenue consultants engaged by the State Internal Revenue Service, BIRS.

Governor Samuel Ortom announced this during the inauguration of Special Advisers and the members of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB.

The Governor said that the government was also in full support of BIRS illegal revenue road blocks across the state and going after illegal revenue collectors.

Governor Ortom explained that the government was looking towards enhancing IGR, the revenue consultants with BIRS were collecting monies and only remitting ten percent to the government.

The Governor urged the Special Advisers to work in line with the principles of administration and add value to the development of the state.

He warned that that those found wanting would be shown the way out.
