Adamawa State Government is spending eight billion naira for the construction of 2000 units of houses across the state within the next twelve months.
The State Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, stated this at the launched of the ground breaking stone at Malkohi area of Yola South local government area.
Governor Fintiri, said 1,200 units of the houses would be constructed in the state capital, 300 in Mubi town while the remaining are to be separated across the state.
He reemphasized on the provision of affordable housing for the state civil servants as one of his priority and on the 12 months deadline for the contract.
The Permanent Secretary Housing, State Ministry for Housing and Ubarn Development, Hajiya Jummai Bashir, explains that, the housing programme embarked by the present led Fintiri administration was timely and long awaited by the people of Adamawa state.
She said the programme would draw urbanisation and economic activities of the area and as well enhance security at Yola bypass area.
