Police in Kaduna has arrested 25 suspected kidnappers on Abuja-Kaduna highway, where 6 persons were abducted in August, including 3 ABU students.
A police inspector was also killed with his AK47 rifle carted away.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo explained that a police team raided criminal hideouts at Kingimi and other villages in Igabi local government area (one of the biggest local councils in the country) and arrested one Buhari Bello a 34yrs old and 7 others.
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that they belong to a gang of kidnappers and armed robbers that have been terrorizing Kaduna -Abuja and Kaduna -Zaria Expressway, DSP Sabo said.
He said they were also responsible for the abduction of Suleiman Ibrahim Dabo a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly recently.
N450,000 was discovered from one of the suspects, which he confessed to be his share of the ransom paid by the victim.
According to Sabo, a combined team of police dislodged bandits from camps in Maigiginya and Gurguzu villages all in Igabi, killed about 3 and recovered 2 AK47 rifles.
