This year’s Power Africa Conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE, the largest professional body in the world has build the capacity of over one thousand participants with cutting edge innovations in the power sector.
The General Chairman of the 2019 IEEE PES-IAS Power Africa Conference Engr. Tunde Yusuf Salihu who stated this while briefing newsmen on the conference in Abuja said the move would improve the nation’s power.
He said IEEE PES-IAS Power Africa Conference is a go-to event for engineers, technical managers, decision makers, research scientists and academics to interact, learn the latest technical advances in the field of electrical power and industrial renewable energy, and share their experiences.
Engr Salihu explained that conference is organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the largest international technical professional association with over 400,000 members worldwide.
He said this is the sixth event of this kind, after successful meetings in Zambia (2016), Ghana (2017) and South Africa (2018).
Activities at the conference included keynote speeches, tutorials, technical presentations from academia and industry as well as panel discussions on harnessing the advances in power technology for Africa’s electrification goals.
The theme of this year’s event was: Power Economics and Energy Innovations in Africa.
