The FCT Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has inaugurated Agro Rangers Unit to address farmers-herders clashes and security for Agro-allied Ventures.
The Minister of the FCT, Mallam Mohammed Bello inaugurated the unit in Abuja.
The Minister, represented by the Acting Director Security FCTA, Alhaji Bello Abdullatif lauded the initiative and promised to give the needed support for success of the project.
The Commandant NSCDC, FCT command, Mr Patrick Ukpan pointed out that the unit was created in twenty sixteen and had trained over one hundred and twenty personnel.
Mr Ukpan said some officers would be deployed to some strategic positions to bring an end to the frequent farmers-herders clashes and other security challenges.
The President, Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association, Mrs. Lizzy Igbine pledged the support of the association to the project.
