6 persons have died after a truck carrying iron roods rammed into four other vehicles on Agulu lake road, in Aniocha local government area of Anambra state.
The incident which occurred at about on Monday also left seventeen persons seriously injured.
In a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria’s Uche Ndeke, sector commander, Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra state, Mr Andrew Kumapayi blamed the road clash on recklessness on the part of the truck driver.
He called for urgent construction of speed breakers and barricade to discourage heavy trucks from plying the road.
Meanwhile, the state government is to construct barricade along the Agulu Lake road to prevent accidents.
Governor Willie Obiano stated this after visiting the scene of the incident and injured victims in the hospital. He ordered that those in critical conditions be moved to the state teaching hospital.
