Dandango community sends SOS over state of health facility

Residents of Dandango Community in Bauchi Local Government area of Bauchi State, have expressed concern over the dilapidated state of their only health facility, which was blown off by wind storm in 2008.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the Ward Head of Dandango community, Malam Isa Mohammed urged the State government to renovate the health facility with a view to ease their sufferings.

Malam Isa Mohammed who spoke through Danburam of Dandango, Malam Danladi Adamu claimed that about eleven months ago the roof of the health care centre was blown off by windstorm, rendering it completely dysfunctional.

He appealed to concerned authorities to do all within their powers to rehabilitate the health facility for improved healthcare delivery.

Other residents of the community, Umar Muhammad and Shehu Abdullahi who expressed worry over the deplorable condition of the facility, claimed that about fifteen communities depended on it.

Also speaking a mother who once delivered in the health centre described the experience as traumatizing

Radio Nigeria learnt that the health facility was blown off by windstorm and has not received any intervention from the authorities since then.
