Association task on financial literacy

The President of Defense and Police Officers Wives Association, DEPOWA, Mrs. Omobolanle Olonisakin has urged wives of serving officers to embrace financial discipline and budgeting to assist their spouse in trying times.

She made the appeal at the closing of a two-day training programme on personal finance management for DEPOWA members in Abuja.

According to Mrs. Olonisakin, Personal Finance Management is crucial to deal with life as it is a critical part of life.

She said, monthly budget for salary earners is important to ensure that unnecessary expenses are avoided.

The resource person Mrs. Adebisi Kuforiji explained that,the training is to empower women on how to invest on projects that generate income with little input from their spouse.

Mrs. Christiana Malgwi, Grace Balogun and Usena Usman who were beneficiaries of the two days event said they had learnt a lot on how to generate huge cash flow with little money from the home front before their husbands retire from office.

Mrs. Olonisakin, further urged participants, to device strategy that would enable them live within their means and avoid taking new debts.
