The United States Consulate-General in Lagos has restated its commitment to consolidate on its many areas of partnership with the Government.
The Consul-General, Ms Claire Pierangelo reiterated this when she paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Alausa Ikeja.
Ms Pierangelo who described the relationship between the Lagos State Government and the Consulate as very critical to the success of the US in Nigeria said her country was eager to build a new Consulate in Lagos to consolidate on bilateral relations in the areas of health, education, security among others.
Pierangelo said: “We have such a broad variety of issues that we work with Nigeria; education, health, our CDC programmes, it really goes across the board, the depth of our collaborations with Nigeria is really quite deep and most of them we do in Lagos State”
While welcoming the Consul-General to Lagos, Governor Sanwo-Olu said his administration is looking forward to a very good working relationship with her.
Ms Claire Pierangelo assumed her duties as Principal officer of the US Consulate-General, Lagos this August.
