Muslims urged to pray for peace

As Edil Kabir celebration commences, Muslims Umma have been reminded to fear Allah in all their daily activities.

Malam Shehu Isah Shuraihu who led prayer at the Gusau central Eid prayer ground, made the statement in his sermon.

He said the best act of worship to be conducted on sallah day is slaughtering of recommended animals as sacrifice.

He called on Muslim Umma to pray for peace and tranquillity in the state.

In his sallah message, governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle appealed to people of the state to cooperate with the state government in moving the state forward.

He said the state government has revived the culture of Fulani traditional play (Sharo) to reunite people of the state.

In the same vein, Nigerians are advised to live in peace and remain united for the socio-economic development of the country.

The Assistant Chief Imam, Sergent Abdul-Kari Muhammad gave the advice at the Central Mosque, Eighty-two Division Nigerian Army, Enugu.

The Assistant Chief Iman stressed the need for everybody to be his brother’s keeper and tolerate each other, no matter the level of provocation.

In an interview, another Moslem faithful explained that it was a time of reunification and slaughtering of ram in line with the Islamic injunction.

Our correspondent reports that the ceremony attracted Moslem faithful from all walks of life in Enugu Metropolis.
