Two personnel of the Anambra state Traffic Management Agency, ATMA, have been suspended for compromising the ethical standards in the line of duty.
The Managing Director of ATMA, Mr Patrick Obiefuna who made this known while do speaking with Radio Nigeria in Awka said the erring staff will not receive their salary for the period of the suspension.
According to him, the agency will no longer tolerate staff violating the rules governing their operations while controlling traffic, as anyone caught would not be spared.
He called on the traffic personnel to be disciplined and cautious while relating with motorists on the road.
Mr Obiefuna while commending governor Willie Obiano for approving the upward review of ATMA staff strength , however appealed for more operational vehicles to enable them respond swiftly to traffic emergencies .
The Agency had recently carried out personnel verification exercise to ascertain their staff strength.
