Crime: Ogun govt reads riot act to landlords

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state says any landlord whose property is being used as a hideout for suspected criminals in the state will be sanctioned. 

Governor Abiodun told journalists at his Oke Mosan, Abeokuta Office that such facilities would also be forfeited to the government. 

The Governor who promised that the state’s security Trust Fund would be revitalized towards ensuring adequate funding for law enforcement agencies explained that landlords harbouring criminals risked arrest while the facilities could be demolished. 

Governor Abiodun who expressed the commitment of present administration to give priority to the security of lives and property urged the residents to support law enforcement agencies with necessary information towards curbing crime and criminalities in the state.

On recent kidnapping cases in the state,  Governor Abiodun commended the federal government and the authorities of the Nigeria Police Force for quick deployment of men, helicopter and resources that made the rescue of the victims and arrest of the suspects possible.

The state commissioner of police, Mr Bashir Makama pointed out the command would not relent in the efforts to secure the lives and property of the people.
