‘Review’ Indian man’s death sentence – ICJ orders Pakistan

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered Pakistan to review the death penalty handed in 2017 to a former Indian navy commander.

India had asked the UN court to intervene in the case of Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav, whom a Pakistani court convicted of being a spy.

A document published on ICJ’s website on Wednesday showed that the world court ruled in favour of Delhi’s position: that Mr. Jadhav had been given an unfair trial and had been denied diplomatic assistance by Pakistan.
