Industrial action embarked upon by the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies and that of National Union of Electricity Employees, in Adamawa state has left residents in blackout.
Speaking to Radio Nigeria in Yola over the continuation of the strike action, the Deputy President General of the Association, Comrade Nasiru Dembo, said the 2 unions remained on their stand until their demands are fulfilled by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.
Comrade Dembo, revealed that if the government does not react by next Monday, other unions under the Nigeria Labour Congress would register their solidarity in support of the strike.
He appealed to electricity consumers in the state to bear with the situation as it will jeopardise their businesses.
Comrade Dembo, however called on the affected state governments to intervene so as to resolve the issue.
Radio Nigeria correspondent who went round the state capital of Adamawa observed that, most areas have been out of electricity supply for almost 24 hours.
