The Federal Government has suspended the plan to build Ruga settlements in some states in the country.
The Chairman of the National Food Security/Herders/Farmers Conflict committee, and Governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi briefed State House correspondents after the Food Security/Herders/Farmers Conflict meeting presided over by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the State House, Abuja.
He said the suspension was due to lack of consistency with the National Economic Council and the FG approved National Livestock Transformation plan which was a programme of rehabilitation for internally displaced persons resulting from the crisis and development of ranches in willing states.
Those at the meeting were governors of Ebonyi, Plateau, Kebbi, and Deputy Governor of Adamawa state.
The National Livestock Transformation Plan was approved earlier in the year by State governors under the auspices of the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by the Vice President.
