Force Commander of the Operation Hadarin Daji, Maj. Gen. Jaleel J. Ogunlade has given Bandits operating in zamfara state an ultimatum of 24 hours to surrender arms and embrace peace or face the consequences.
The commander who gave the warning during a Press Briefing on the successes recorded by the operation since its inception on the 10th of May, 2019 said Operation Hadarin Daji would commence onslaught on the bandits at their respective Camps should they refuse to surrender
He therefore assured the general public that, they would soon flush out bandits from the State as they are now all-out to engage the bandits with heavy fire power.
Maj. Gen. Jaleel Ogunlade lamented that, even as the bandits are demanding for dialogue, there is no sign of them being serious on the amnesty as they have lunched over twenty attacks after the state government pronouncement on the need for peace accord
According to him, the Operation Hadarin Daji which consist of Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Navy, Police, National Intelligence Agency, Civil Defence and Department of State Services among others are working round the clock to restore normalcy in the State
According to him, from inception to date, the Operation has recorded tremendous successes which include recovery of Eleven AK 47 rifles, 14 Local Dane guns, 2437 rounds of 7.62 millimetres special ammunition, 2 pump rifles and 2 locally made pistols.
Other achievements recorded include the rescue of 49 Kidnapped victims, 20 bandits neutralized, 15 suspected bandits and collaborators arrested as well as recovery of 2,164 cows which were returned to their rightful owners
He added that, Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji are at present dominating the flashpoints with aggressive patrol, amongst other actions to deny the bandits freedom of action and shaping the environment to make the state conducive for farming and other economic activities
The force Commander therefore appealed to the general public to continue reporting suspicious movements in their localities to the nearest security agency for prompt action.
