The legislature is a governmental body with the power to make, amend and repeal laws in any country.

However in the course of discharging their duties disagreements occur, usually triggered by divisive issues and could result to any form of violence between members.

These clashes have occurred in many countries across time and notable incidents still regularly occur.

Hadiza Abdulrahman in this report takes a look at reoccurring cases of violence among lawmakers in Nigerian chambers and measures to curb the trend.
