The 2019 Batch B Corp members posted to Kano have been charged to support the state policies during their service year.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2019 Batch B Corp members posted to Kano, at the permanent orientation camp Kusalla, Karaye Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the orientation camp training was designed to equip the Corp members with the objectives of the scheme.
He explained that the Kano state government had recently created a ministry that would oversee the affairs of youths and sports.
Governor Ganduje maintained that the ministry would also work with NYSC in Kano to promote youth Corp members welfares and safety.
Earlier the state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ladan Baba said the orientation camp was hosting Corp members posted to Kano and Borno states.
He enjoined the Corp members to be committed and also utilizes the golden opportunity in serving their fatherland.
Ladan baba pointed out that the orientation exercise involves physical training, lecture series, social activities and sports among others, said all geared towards inculcating discipline, courage and patriotism.
He maintained that a total of 2,259 corps members were registered in the camp, comprising of 1,103 males and 1,156 females.
The ceremony was attended by the head of security agencies in Kano and other stakeholders.
