Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has described the media as vital to the success of his agenda for the new dispensation and has called on practitioners to continue supporting the government with the dissemination of its developmental policies and agendas.
Governor Okowa stated this in Asaba during his first media briefing with journalists since his inauguration as governor for a second term.
Dr. Okowa noted that over two hundred new Primary Healthcare Centers will be built in his second tenure, while road construction will retain priority in the new dispensation.
The governor gave the assurance that ongoing stormwater projects in Asaba will be completed when the dry season comes while the ultramodern secretary complex also in Asaba will be completed in due time.
He promised to continue his job creation and skills acquisition programmes for the youth, with special attention for the education of the girl child.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Delta State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, congratulated the governor on his reelection for a second term, promising the union was committed to playing its role as watchdog of society in accordance with the ethics of the profession.
