Prominent Nigerians and foreign guests have graced a dinner at the State House banquet hall, held to usher in a second term for President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Pres. Buhari and Vice Pres. Osinbajo had earlier in the day been sworn-in for a second term in office by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad.
They were was sworn in at a low-key inauguration ceremony in which President Buhari did not deliver a speech.
He is billed to depart for Makkah, Saudi Arabia Thursday (Today) for OIC summit and was represented at the dinner by the vice president.
“I express gratitude to God and Nigerians for trusting the administration yet again as that trust will not be betrayed”, VP Osinbajo said.
Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), solicited the support of every Nigerian including the opposition in moving Nigeria forward.
The dinner attracted former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, service chiefs, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, members of the National Assembly, APC chieftains, members of the diplomatic corps and captains of industry.
