4 injured in Lagos bus fire

At least 4 people have been reported injured on Tuesday when a bus, trying to manoeuvre a fallen fuel tanker on Oke Afa-Isolo Bridge in Lagos, collided and burnt down.

The bus carrying 14 passengers caught fire when it was ascending the bridge connecting Oke Afa with Isolo, Okota, creating a gridlock.

According to reports, the bus’ absorbed petrol from potholes and while ascending the bridge, the exhaust pipe scratched the pavement and ignited a fire.

An officer of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) at the accident scene said 4 occupants of the bus, as well as the driver, were rushed to the Isolo General Hospital for treatment while the other occupants escaped with little or no injuries.
