President Muhammadu Buhari has restated the resolve of his administration not to neglect any part of the country owing to its geographical location or political consideration.
The President gave the assurance at the handing over of road and drainage constructed by the federal government through the Ecological Fund Office along Amba-Bassa road in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Amba-Bassa road is about fifteen kilometres from Garaku the headquarters of Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
People living in the area who are mainly farmers have suffered great losses of farm produce and other property due to flooding and bad condition of the road.
This necessitated the intervention of the federal government through the Ecological Fund Office to embark on the construction of one point five-kilometre road and drainage on the most deplorable part of the road.
At the handing over ceremony, President Muhammadu Buhari said the project was in line with his administration’s drive towards improving the living standard of the people and a demonstration of sincerity of purpose in entrenching justice, equity and fairness to all.
The President, represented by Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development commended the Ecological Fund Office and the contractors for timely completion of the project.
Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area Alhaji Saidu Kurki described the project as a huge relief to the people of the area.
In a message, Governor Tanko Almakura commended the federal government for the intervention and called on the people to refrain from dumping of refuse in water ways.
This brings to two erosion control and road construction projects executed by the federal government in Nasarawa State as similar project was inaugurated in Nasarawa town of the state last year.
