Ebonyi state government has inaugurated a twenty man Joint negotiation committee for the payment of the new national minimum wage to the state civil servants.
At the event at Government House Abakaliki, Governor David Umahi charged the committee to workout the incremental effect of the new minimum wage on the existing salary structure and how government would generate money to pay.
He emphasized that the new minimum wage did not imply wage review but the amount of money a worker with the least salary grade level goes home with and directed the committee not to work out the percentage of the new wage.
Correspondent reports that the joint negotiation committee on the new minimum wage is headed by the State Commissioner for Budget, Professor Ogbonnaya Chukwu.
Governor Umahi also inaugurated Justice Gladson Ugbala as a new Judge of the State High Court.
