The Anambra State Government has reassured citizens of its commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the area.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this at Government House Awka while briefing the State Executive Council on the arrest of Chigbo Aniegbu aka Transformer, the leader of the gang which killed the President General of Nimo, Chief Frank Igboka.
Governor Obiano stressed that there was still a ransom of #5 million each for information that could lead to the arrest of the three fleeing members of the gang that gunned down Chief Igboka.
He warned landlords to carry-out background checks before letting their property as government would not hesitate in destroying buildings used in keeping kidnapped victims.
He explained that the state government values the lives of citizens, which prompted its robust initiatives to promoting adequate security in the area.
The Governor announced that the second phase of “Operation Kpochau” would commence in the next three weeks in the area to add bite to effective policing.
Governor Obiano commended the military, police and other security agencies for their assistance in deepening the apparatus in the state.
