Group to promote peace through movies

The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, IPCR has signed a memorandum of understanding with Centre for Change and Community Development on the need to produce movies that will promote peaceful coexistence in the country.

On the occasion, The Acting Director General of the Institute, Dr. Bakut Bakut said the idea to use movies in promoting peace in the country was necessary because of the influence the creative industry had on the majority of the populace.

He said the mandate of the Institute covered all over the African region and therefore, strategies are on to explore more avenues to bring people together and discuss peace.

The Chairman Centre for Change and Community Development who is also an actor Dr. Zack Amata while appreciating the IPCR’s management for supporting the idea of using movies for peace building in the country, said there was the need for all Nigerians to embrace peace at all times.
