Provision and Protection of basic human needs and rights cannot be guaranteed by government in an environment where there is breakdown of law and order.
To this end, there was need for security agencies and other stakeholders to collaborate in providing a peaceful environment for democracy to thrive.
This was the submission of the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai at the maiden Lecture and official launch of the Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai’s Centre for Contemporary Security Affairs, Igbinedion University, Okoda, Benin City, Edo State.
Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai urged Nigerians to respect the rights of others to live a peaceful life.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Lawrence Ezemonye said the centre when fully operational would promote research that would curb security challenges in the country.
