Court arraigns woman on human trafficking

Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of Federal High court, Makurdi has ordered for the arraignment of Mrs Felicia Ogboja the wife of Mr Andrew Ogboja, who is standing trial at a Makurdi Magistrate court over sexual molestation of a thirteen year girl, Ochanya Ogbanje to death.

This followed her arraignment at the court over a two count charge bordering on human trafficking and other related offences.

While ruling on the application of the accursed Mrs Ogboja ,brought by her counsel Mr David Ojile,Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon ordered that she pays the sum of two million naira and two sureties as condition for bail.

The prosecuting counsel, Mr Swanta Bossan alleged that Mrs Ogboja harbored the late Ochanya between twenty fourteen and last year, knowing full well that her husband and son, Victor were sexually molesting the teenager.

She however, pleaded not guilty while the prosecuting counsel did not oppose her bail.

The Federal High court Judge directed that the sureties for Mrs Ogboja must be civil servants with a letter of introduction from head of their department or persons with landed property in Makurdi.

The case has been adjourned to the tenth of next month for trial of the accused.
