Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has inaugurated a twenty-member Transition Committee to usher in a new administration in the State.
According to the Governor, the Committee which is co-Chaired by the Secretary to the State Governor, SSG, Mr Tunji Bello and the Deputy Governor-Elect, Mr Obafemi Hamzat has the responsibility to ensure that the machinery of government continues to roll smoothly.
Represented by the SSG, Governor Ambode said the inauguration of the transition committee is to maintain stability, build on the solid status of the State and to ensure seamless transition to the incoming administration of the All Progressives Congress Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor elect, Obafemi Hamzat.
“Government is not a sprint or short distance race, it is an unending race, for us in Lagos State, it has been a progressive race in which every successive administration builds upon the achievement of the past administration” Ambode said.
In his response, the Deputy Governor-elect and Co-Chairman of the Committee, Obafemi Hamzat assured that the handover would be a seamless one.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola described the Committee as imperative to the well-being of the State.
Members of the Committee were drawn from the private sector and public sector
In about seven weeks from now, the baton of leadership of the state will be handed over to a new administration.
