FG expends 290 billion naira on Social Investment Programme

The Federal Government says it has expended about two hundred and ninety billion naira on the Social investment programme since inception in 2016.

The Special Adviser to the President on social Investment Programme, Hajia Mariam Uwais stated this on Have Your Say   a radio Nigeria public engagagement programme.

Hajiyah Uwais said the programme would be extended to additional twelve thousand Nigerians this year to further bring down the poverty index in the country.

She explained that the school feeding has fed over 9  Million children across 30 states of the Federation

The special adviser claimed that the feeding programme aside the fact that it was providing appropriate nourishing for children, it had also boosted school attendance and learning for children nationwide.

Hajiyah Maryam Uwais emphasized that the present administration is committed to reducing poverty and unemployment in the country.
