FEC approves N1.3bn for FRCN, NTA, NAN

The Federal Executive Council has approved N1.3bn for the replacement of some obsolete equipment at Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) the Nigerian Television Authority ( NTA), and the News Agency ( NAN).

The minister of Information Alhaji Lai Mohammed made this known to newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting held at the presidential villa Abuja

He said said out of the amount, N283m was approved for NTA for the purchase of cameras, microphones and television packs.

He noted that the council has also approved N148.7m for NAN to purchase of 15 operational vehicles from the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) limited.

For the FRCN, the minister said N561.4m has been approved for the procurement of 12 transmitters.

He said the radio station was also granted an approval for the purchase of three Outside Broadcasting Vans at N311.6m.

The Federal Executive Council also approved 1. 4 billion for the design of DPR Head office in Abuja. The contract was awarded to Messers Arteck Practice Limited to design a 12 floor building at a plot which has already been allocated to by the FCT.

The meeting was presided over by president Muhammadu Buhari .
