Federal Government has banned the use of Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 by any airline operator in Nigeria.
A Boeing 737 MAX 8 had plunged into a field minutes after take-off on Sunday from the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, killing all 157 people on board.
The Minister of State Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika, who briefed State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), said such plane would not be allowed for now into the country’s space.
FEC also approved a 64 million Euro financial facility from the French Development Agency for National Urban Water Sector Reform project in Kano state.
Similarly Federal Government approved contracts for Safety and Security equipment in some airports, airport terminal building for the Minna Airport in Niger state.
These are some of the decisions taken by the Federal Executive Council at its meeting held today in Abuja.
