NEMA receives 326 from Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA has received another batch of 326 stranded Nigerians from Libya in 2 different flights at the Cargo Wing of MMIA, Ikeja.

The first flight arrived in Nigeria with 143 returnees at 10:20 pm on Thursday, while the second flight arrived with 183 Returnees aboard, comprising 291 adults, 8 children and 27 infants.

The voluntary returnees were brought back by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in its Assisted Voluntary Returnees (AVR) initiative with funding from European Union.

The Zonal Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mr Daniel Atokolo assured the returnees on secrecy of voluntary information that could lead to identification and arrest of traffickers.
