CP promises hitch-free election in Lagos

The police in Lagos are ready for peaceful conduct of the gubernatorial and state Assembly elections which will come up Saturday, nextweek.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zubairu Muazu told a news conference that the command had reviewed and redoubled its strategies to ensure that the elections would be hitch free in the state.

He frowned at the fake news of an impending attack on Igbo traders and some major areas dominated by non-indigenes in the state.

Mr. Muazu who said there is no tribe or community under threat in any part of the state warned initiators and peddlers of fake news to desist or be ready to face the consequence.

The police boss pointed out that thirty eight suspected hoodlums were arrested for allegedly causing a breach of public peace while a dead body was recovered when the winner of the presidential election was announced.

The suspected leader of the thugs that disrupted the presidential and National Assembly elections in Okota area of the state is ready to be charged.
