Wamakko reelected into senate

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of the APC has been re-elected to represent Sokoto North senatorial district in the senate.

Presenting the result,the returning officer Professor Aminu Mohammed said Senator Wamakko scored one hundred and seventy two thousand nine hundred and and eighty votes to defeat Ahmed Muhammed Machido of the PDP who pooled one hundred and thirty eight thousand nine hundred and twenty two votes.

Also, Bala Hassan Abubakar of the APC has been declared winner of the house of Representatives election to represent Sokoto North/Sokoto south federal constituency.

Declaring the result, Professor Aminu Mohammed said the winner pooled seventy one thousand four hundred and eighty six votes defeating Abubakar Abdullahi Ahmed of the PDP who scored fifty two thousand one hundred and forty eight votes.

Also the results of the presidential election conducted in the twenty three local govt areas of Sokoto state has been announced.

Announcing the results, the returning officer Prof Yahuza Mohammed Bello said the APC pooled four hundred and ninety thousand three hundred and thirty three votes while the PDP scored three hundred and sixty one thousand six hundred and four votes.

He said the total number of votes casted were nine hundred and twenty five thousand nine hundred and forty votes of which eight hundred and seventy one thousand eight hundred and ninety one are valid, while fifty four thousand and forty nine were invalid.

Also the total number of accredited voters is nine hundred and fifty thousand one hundred and seven
