The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Ekiti state says it has retrieved the sensitive materials earlier distributed to the sixteen local governments of the state.
Radio Nigeria was at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Ado-Ekiti where the election materials were kept.
The election materials were inspected by stakeholders in the electoral process such as security agencies, party representatives, National Orientation Agency, NOA among others.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the inspection, the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Ekiti state, Dr Muslim Omoleke said the materials remained intact.
Dr Omoleke hinted that the remaining part of the sensitive materials arrived Ado-Ekiti on Sunday night.
The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr Amba Asuquo also confirmed that nothing happened to the materials.
Mr Asuquo promised that the election materials would be properly secured in collaboration with other security agencies.
The Chairman, Inter – Party Advisory Council, IPAC in Ekiti state, Mr Ilesanmi Omolayo who was also part of the team that inspected the items noted that they have not been tampered with.
Representatives of the All Progressives Congress, APC Mr Garba Arogundade and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rashidat Ajise were on ground to witness the exercise.
INEC in Ekiti state had on Friday distributed some of the sensitive materials meant for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday 16th February before it was postponed to this week Saturday.
