INEC engages services of PWD in Nassarawa

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Nasarawa State has engaged about twenty physically Challenged persons as Ad- hoc staff to conduct the forthcoming general election in the state.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state Doctor Uthman Ajidagba announced this in Lafia at a Sensitization Forum for People with Disabilities ahead of the twenty nineteen general election.

Over sixty persons with disabilities from across the thirteen local government areas of the state attended the forum.

Categories of people with disabilities at the sensitisation forum comprised of the visually impaired, the crippled, the deaf and dumb among others.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Nasarawa State , Doctor Uthman Ajidagba stated that the sensitisation forum was part of activities towards ensuring that people with disabilities are fully involved in the electoral process.

He called on them to mobilize their members to play active role in the electoral process ahead of the twenty nineteen general election.

Nasarawa state Joint Chairman of Persons with Disabilities, Mr Innocent Ladan commanded INEC for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota towards success of the electoral process.

The state Women Leader , Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities, Hajiya HADIZA Kasimu called on INEC to ensure people with disabilities do not face difficulties during voting.

Hajiya HADIZA Kasimu pledged to step up sensitisation to their members across the state to play active role during the elections.
