Bauchi Health intervention targets 1.8m women

In Bauchi State, about one point eight million women and children are being targeted for medication and food supplements under the first round of this year’s Maternal and Child Health Week, MNCHW.

The Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa said one point four million under-five children and about three hundred thousand and forty thousand pregnant women were expected to benefit from the interventions.

Adamu Gamawa explained that the interventions include Folic acid and Fasolate for pregnant women as well as vitamins A supplementation and deworming tablets for under-five children.

He expressed satisfaction over the turnout of women and children and urged households whose families were yet to access the services to use the the opportunity provided them.

The State Executive Chairman of the Agency, appreciated the state government and all development partners working in the state for their interventions towards the actualization of the exercise.
