Ekiti State government has approved the commencement of Treasury Single Account TSA, to block revenue leakages as well as promote accountability and transparency in governance.
This was part of the decisions of the State Executive Council at its weekly meeting in Ado Ekiti, presided over by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Briefing newsmen, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Yinka Oyebode said the council directed the ministry of finance and the office of the Attorney General to work out modalities for the immediate implementation of the new system.
Mr Oyebode further stated that the council approved N250million naira as intervention fund in Education and health sectors in four local govt areas of Oye, Moba, Ijero and Ekiti South west.
He noted that the money would be used as counterpart funding to access the N500million naira conditional grant scheme of 2018 Sustainable Development Goals to accelerate development in the state.
