Forum advocates issue based campaigns

Arewa Consultative Forum ACF has appealed to leaders of various political parties and their candidates to run issue based campaign and refrain from all forms of incitements to ensure peaceful conduct of 2019 election.

The Acting Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Musa Liman Kwande made the plea when the Presidential Candidate of People’s Trust Party Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim paid him courtesy visit in their office in Kaduna.

Alhaji Musa Kwande called on the police and other security agencies to maintain neutrality while discharging their duties during forth coming election.

He also called on Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to be an impartial umpire in the conduct of the 2019 general elections and to provide level playing ground to all political parties and their candidates.

Alhaji Musa Kwande noted that, Arewa Consultative Forum is a non partisan and non political as well as devoid of any ethnic or tribal sentiment.

He maintained that, the forum does not align it self to any individual or political party but it committed to the overall good of the north and the country in general.

According to him, the forum had put in place a sensitization programs to enlighten the electorate on peaceful conduct of election and asked other Non governmental Organization to joint efforts in the sensitization campaigns.

In a remark, the Presidential Candidate of People Trust Party, Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim said if Nigerians give him the mandate, his administration would provide adequate security to protect lives and property of Nigerians.

Mr Gbenga Hashim explained his administration would boost the socio economic development of the nation to tackle poverty level in the country.

He described Arewa Consultative Forum as the biggest socio cultural group in Nigerian which according to him, he cannot Flag off his campaign without asking the forum permission .
