National Assembly staff begins strike

Staff of the National Assembly have commenced a four day warning strike demanding the full implementation of the Consolidated Legislative Salary structure, which seeks to increase their pay.

The workers have blocked the entrance of the assembly and turning back vehicles, except those belonging to security agents.

Administrative and legislative staff were also prevented from gaining access to the complex.

The workers are rallying under the auspices of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN.

Commenting on the strike,the National President of Parliamentary staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Comrade Bala Hadi said that only staff of the National Assembly were advised not to go to their duty posts.
Comrade Bala explained that the Law makers And their staff were not prevented from entering their offices and chambers within the period of the strike, but that they would not receive services from the Assembly staff.
The PASAN National President said that the Union has devices many strategies to ensure the success of the strike.
