Pastor Adeboye urges Nigerians to pray for peace

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and unity in the Nation.

He made the call at the Christmas Carol held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.

In his Christmas message, Pastor Adeboye urged Nigerians to pray for lasting peace and His mercy on the nation.

The Pastor also prayed for free and fair 2019 general elections.

The first Bible reading taken from Luke 2:18 –28, was read by the wife of the former Head of State, Mrs Victoria Gowon, while the second reading taken from Isaiah 7:14–15, 9:6–7, was read by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Emmanuel Udom.

The Gospel lesson taken from Luke 2: 1–7, was read by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.

In a special intercession, Chaplain, State House Chapel, Pastor Seyi Malomo, prayed for Nigeria and its leaders especially, President Muhammad Buhari, who will mark his birthday on Dec. 16.

The congregation was thrilled by renditions from Aguda House Choir, Aso Villa Chapel Choir and Aso Villa Chapel Children Choir.

Addressing State House correspondents shortly after the carol, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Kayode Fayemi said his heart desire, would be that God should lead Ekiti people to freedom.

Also, the Plateau State Governor, Mr Simon Lalong, believed that God was bringing hope to Nigeria despite its numerous challenges.

The Carol tagged “Christmas Praise Concert”, was also attended by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, his wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon.

Also in attendance were the governors of Oyo, Lagos, Ondo, Osun, royal fathers, clergymen and members of the National Assembly.
