Kaduna state government says it will deal with anyone found promoting hate speech through tweeting or publishing false information capable of breaching peaceful coexistence especially on the social media.
The State Governor, Malam Nasiru Elrufai stated this in Kaduna during a summit for the peaceful conduct of next year’s general election organized by Kaduna state peace commission and other stakeholders.
The summit brought together leaders of various political parties and their candidates to deliberate with a views to ensuring free violence campaigns and election.
Governor Elrufai explained that most of the violence that occurred in the state were post election violence.
He said “For us in the Kaduna state we are determine to fight hate speech, we are determine to bring to justice any one that tweet or publishing anything that will incite the killing of human beings or the destruction of property in the state.
Governor Elrufai stressed the need for the candidates to pay attention to issue based campaigns and achievements rather than attacking oppositions.
On his part, Kaduna state chairman of the people Democratic party PDP, Mr Hassan Hayat called on security agencies to be neutral during the campaigns and election time.

Also speaking , the Chairman of Kaduna state peace commission, Arch Bishop Idewu Feron said political parties and their candidates had agreed to shun anything that can promote violence during campaigns and election.
