Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has denied receiving bribe from contractors as alleged by an online newspaper daily Nigerian few weeks ago.
Represented by the commissioner for Information, Malam Mohammad Garba who appeared before the investigative adhoc committee constituted by the Kano State House of Assembly to investigate the allegations.
Mr Mohamad Garba who read the written response of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to the committee said, the Governor did not collect bribe and would never collect bribe.
He maintained that the alleged video was false, designed to tarnished his image aimed at reducing his popularity especially at this critical moment that the general elections was approaching.
Responding the Chairman of the seven-man Adhoc Committee, Alhaji Babba Danagundi said according to the constitution, the accused has the right to appear before the committee in person or communicate to the committee through a written response or through his lawyers.
He said the committee would scrutinize the written response and would arrange another sitting on Tuesday where experts on video clips from both parties would be invited to authenticate the video before compiling its final report for onward submission to the house.
Alhaji Babba Danagundi appealed to journalists in the state to ensure fair and just reportage of the committees proceeding aimed at achieving the set objectives.
