The Nigeria Communications Commission NCC says internet governance will create a pro-development policy environment and enable the use of the internet as a development engine.
The Executive Vice-Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, stated this during a stakeholders broadband engagement forum held in Kano.
He said the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari was committed in ensuring that qualitative broadband services was provided both at rural and urban centers nationwide aimed at improving the internet service in the country.
He noted that, continuous internet growth will transform just about every aspect of our life, hence, all possible measures needed to be implored in ensuring successful that the set objectives were achieved.
Professor Umar Garba Danbatta maintained that the commission had approved licences to some companies to import broadband infrastructures aimed at achieving the desired goals.
He assured the public that with the rate at which the country was skyrocketing technologically Nigeria will surely become one of giants nations globally.
The workshop was attended by communication stakeholders and other partners.
