IDPs eager to return home –PCNI

The Presidential Committee on the Northeast Initiative, PCNI says the Internally displaced persons are willing to return to their ancestral home.

The Vice Chairman of PCNI, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah stated this at this month’s coordination forum with development partners in Abuja.

Alhaji Tumsah explained that PCNI was ready to fast track the voluntary return of the displaced persons in the Northeast.

The Vice Chairman applauded the continuous efforts of the military in maintaining the security of lives and property in the affected states.

The Executive Secretary of Adamawa State Emergency Agency, Dr Muhammad Suleiman said the state government had set up a committee to integrate those who are returning to their villages.

The Permanent secretary, Yobe State emergency Agency, Alhaji Musa Idijidawa explained that the data of the internally displaced persons had been captured for necessary rehabilitation.

The PCNI is partnering with state government, security agencies, NEMA, SEMA and other development partners to improve the standard of living in the Northeast.
