Journalists donate items to displaced persons

Journalists in plateau state have donated relief materials to internally displaced persons at the COCIN Regional Church Council Heipang, Barikin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.

The gesture was part of activities marking the 2018 Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ week.

Presenting the items, the state NUJ Chairman, Mr Paul Jatau said journalist do not only report events but also feel the pain of the society.

The camp coordinator, Mr Iliya Makau thanked the NUJ for the donation and called on government to provide security for them to go back to the homes.

He complained of lack of drugs, beddings and food to take care of the over 2,500 people in the camp.

He said attacks has affected their source if livelihood which is farming.

The Plateau state NUJ organised a road work as well as a football match to mark the week.
