The Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly Jonah Jang has declared his intention to contest the seat of the President under the PDP.
Jang, who submitted his letter of intent at the State PDP secretariat in Jos said he was contesting for the country’s number one position to fulfil the dream of the country’s founding fathers which is ensuring peace and security for all.
He said the middle belt region has always supported others from other zones to become President and stressed that in the interest of fairness, the middle belt should also be supported to produce the next President.
Jang who is the immediate past Governor of Plateau state said he was mindful of the enormous challenges facing the country, which he believes requires more than mere political aspiration and ambitions to occupy such office.
Jang said his experience in military training, Governance, Democracy, the legislature and General Development qualifies him to lead the country.
He said peace and security will be given priority as well as the clamour for restructuring and reorganization in line with the provisions of the law.
