Police harps on professionalism in recruitment

The Nigeria Police says it will continue to imbibe professionalism in its recruitment process to ensure that the organisation is manned by highly disciplined officers.

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Johnson Kokumo made this known at the 6th Cadet Examination Exercise held at Nigeria Police Training School, Ogida, Benin City, Edo State.

Represented by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwanbuzo, CP Kokumo, said the Command took into consideration the sensitive nature of the exercise hence the proactive steps taken to secure its integrity.

CP Kokumo who commended the manner in which the candidates conducted themselves during the exercise said successful candidates from the examination would be further screened in Kano for onward admission into the Academy.

Similarly the, Chief Librarian, Nigeria Police Academy, Mr. Sani Abdulrahim who led other officials to oversee the conduct of the exercise in Edo State, said he was impressed by the level of logistics put in place by the command.

Mr. Abdulrahim said the examination exercise met all the requirements of gaining entrance into regular university with score of 180 and above in JAMB and 5 O’level Credits WAEC or NECO.

Two hundred and seventy six (276) candidates participated in the Examination exercise at the Benin Centre at the Nigeria Police Training School, Ogida, Benin City, Edo State.
